Planning for June 30th's Farewell Party for Amy Oak at MAISD:
Ideas? Add them here by first requesting to join this wiki. Once I make you a member, you can click, "Edit" and type away on this page. Then put your name after what you typed and click save. It is as easy as that. :)
We have about 5 minutes to present something really special for this amazing mentor and person. Let's start brainstorming.... Ideas
1. Readers' Theater - write the script? adapt somthing out there?
Ideas for adapting a script:
Tia mentioned Caps for Salebecause Amy wears so many caps. Great one!
What could we do to modify it for Readers Theater?
Or would we use the doc camera and use a picture of Amy's face on the man and add caps by name (instead of color of cap, make them "teacher cap", "facilitator cap", collaborator, mentor, etc.)
Other thoughts?
Amy's favorite book: Whinnie the Pooh
(considerations: Original story is long. Would we take a scene from it?
What about another Whinnie the Pooh book? Pooh's Graduationis one option.
Summary: It's graduation time for Christopher Robin. Pooh, Tigger, and the rest of the gang decide to hold their own graduation celebration. Each graduate receives a diploma and an award for their best talent: Tigger for bouncing, Piglet for cleaning, and Roo for finger painting. But Pooh's not sure what he's best at, until Christopher Robin hands him an award for best friend
Other ideas around a Whinnie the Pooh theme?
Other texts to adapt? What about a poem?
Tia speaking: I adapted this one: Is there something we could do to improve it?
It Doesn’t Seem Enough(Adapted from poem by Joanna Fuchs)We want to tell you "Thank you,"But it doesn’t seem enough.Words don’t seem sufficient-"Blah, blah" and all that stuff. Please know we have deep feelingsAbout your generous acts.MRA, New York, MuskegonYou’re special, and that’s a fact!We appreciate your encouragement, guidance and support. We’re better today having known youOf this we can report.
2. skit?
3. Quotes from Amy and why they have sticked with us? : Amy's favorite is: "Treat people as if they were what they ought to be and you will help them become what they are capable of becoming." -Goethe
